Surinam Cherry

The Surinam cherry (Eugenia uniflora) is a fast-growing, dense evergreen shrub or small tree, reaching 10–20 feet, often used as a hedge or ornamental plant. It features glossy, dark green leaves that are bronze-red when young, small white star-shaped flowers, and ribbed, pumpkin-shaped fruits that turn from green to orange, red, and deep maroon, known for their sweet-tart flavor.
