   Tamarindus indica 

   It is a ornamental , garden , cash crop planting 

    It is cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions bearing edible fruits 

   Tamarind is a medium growth , long lived tree , reaches maximum about 40- 60 ft height 

   Flowers are red and yellow or yellow with orange or red streaks 

   Medicinal uses- ( folk medicine ) treating fever ,constipation etc

   Uses- used in culinary – tamarind juices, sweet chutney, tamarind seed oil 

               Industrial gums 

               Making furniture, carvings, metal polish.
