Pomegranate is grown as an ornamental trees and shrubs 

     It is a fruit bearing deciduous shrub , which grows up to 33ft tall 

     It is cultivated in Mediterranean region 

     Some fruitless varieties are cultivated  for flowers alone 

     These are drought tolerant hence can be grown in dry areas 

     Indian ancients use it as a folk medicine
