Dabbakaya, scientifically known as Citrus medica (commonly referred to as Citron or Indian Grapefruit) and sometimes Citrus maxima, is a large citrus fruit known for its thick, rough, yellow rind, aromatic nature, and intensely sour or bitter-sweet taste. It is particularly famous in Andhra Pradesh, South India, where it is used in traditional recipes, especially pickles.
